Check whether moisture is needed

Use an appropriate humidity reading and observe the room. Condensation or damp surfaces are reasons to reassess use, not to increase output. A humidifier does not address the cause of every comfort complaint and should not be treated as a medical device without the relevant approval.

Follow the water instructions

Use the water type specified for the exact model. Empty, clean and dry accessible parts at the instructed intervals. Do not leave old water sitting indefinitely, and do not add fragrances or cleaning chemicals to operating water unless the device explicitly permits them.

Protect nearby surfaces

Place the device on a suitable stable surface with the required clearance. Keep moisture away from sockets, electronics and materials that can be damaged. Stop if surrounding surfaces become wet, and check settings, placement and the manual before resuming.
