Choose a stable surface
Use a level, secure support away from sources of vibration. Avoid placing speakers on the same light shelf if their vibration reaches the player. Follow the manual for transit locks, platter assembly and any levelling adjustments before playing a record.
Identify the signal stage
Check whether the turntable includes a phono preamp and whether the amplifier input expects phono or line level. These connections serve different purposes. Use the specified grounding arrangement when applicable; do not improvise electrical grounding changes to cure noise.
Handle the stylus carefully
Set tracking force and other adjustments only according to the cartridge and turntable instructions. Keep the stylus protected during handling and clean records with suitable methods. If the mechanism or setup is uncertain, ask a competent specialist rather than guessing at delicate adjustments.
