Make a temporary layout

Measure the intended run and sketch where the power supply and cable will sit. Check the manufacturer’s permitted cut points and maximum connected length. Do not assume two strips with similar connectors can share the same supply or controller.

Test the reflected light

Temporarily position the strip as directed without permanently sticking it down. View it from seated and standing positions. A lip, diffuser or suitable profile can conceal bright dots, but choose accessories designed for the strip and leave the required ventilation space.

Allow for maintenance

Keep the controller and plug reachable. Avoid bending sharply around a corner unless the product specifically allows it, and protect cables from drawers and hinges. Prepare the mounting surface according to the adhesive instructions; dust or an unsuitable finish may prevent a lasting bond.
