Start with the controls

Find the microphone control and check what its indicator means in the product documentation. Muting a microphone, disconnecting power and deleting saved account activity are different actions. Make sure other people know how to stop listening without needing your phone.

Review the linked services

Look through enabled voice purchases, calling features and connected music accounts. Disable capabilities you do not need. If guests or children use the room, check the relevant account restrictions rather than assuming voice recognition is a reliable barrier for every action.

Choose a shared-room routine

Keep the speaker away from spaces where private conversations are expected. Tell visitors that voice control is present and offer a simple way to switch it off. Review stored activity and retention settings in the provider account; options and default settings can change with software updates.
